Mesa College East Campus Improvement
The Mesa College Parking Structure is a key component of the campus's $685 million improvement plan, strategically positioned on the east side of Mesa College Drive. This five-level structure boasts approximately 1,101 parking stalls and serves as a focal point due to its location and energy-efficient design.
It follows LEED guidelines for energy efficiency and is designed to accommodate photovoltaic arrays. These arrays not only power electrical vehicle charging stations but also store power for campus use and provide emergency power for the adjacent police station.
Nestled between a canyon on the south and west and Mesa College Drive on the east, the structure maintains openness, allowing for the natural flow of light and air. It is situated near a new police headquarters to the north, enhancing its strategic importance.
The parking structure supports campus parking needs and includes vehicle charging stations. The ground tier is specifically utilized for secured police parking, emphasizing the structure's multifunctional role in campus security and sustainability.
